ABOUT US
Kamchatka was registered in 1992 after owning a few pet Siberians Huskies, a rough Collie, a Rottweiller and an Afghan, and deciding that this was definitely the breed for me. My home has since grown to house 35 Siberians, one Samoyed and one Weimaraner. I live with my two sons and the dogs on the outskirts of town on a beautiful and peaceful 2 acre small holding in Henley on Klip. My Siberian Huskies are brought up in a home
environment and all run together as a pack and as they should if the temperament
is correct. They have full access to the property. No dogs are kenneled unless a
bitch is on heat. I personally show, train, groom, feed and see to their needs.
All dogs are allowed into the house in my presence and every evening they spend
at least 4 hours with me, either sleeping, playing or just quietly watching my
every move. My puppies are raised inside my house in a room next
to my bedroom until they are ready to go into a covered run outside. The ones I
keep, remain house puppies until old enough to join the pack ( 4 months). They
are all house trained and properly socialised. This is a very clean breed. All
of my Siberians are tested for inherited eye deseases and the hips before being bred.
My lines were based on Innisfree (USA), Arctilight (Canada) and Chukchis a local line. Now they consist mainly of my own bred Kamchatka Siberians for 3 or 4 generations with the addition of a new Innisfree line and combination of Nanook Siberians - Canada (Annette Dionne) and Ciukci Siberians - Spain. In recent years and with the help of Le-Anza Von Broemsen, my great friend, Kamchatka Siberians have achieved great recognition and we (Le-Anza and I) have formed a special partnership based on trust, friendship and love for this wonderful breed. Every Siberian Husky is successfully
worked in harness and some have raced competitively in the past in ISDRA
organised events. These days we only run for pleasure, but others, like
Pierre and Cindy Slabbert and teams of Kamchatka bred dogs successfully compete
throughout the country. I believe that a show dog
should be properly conditioned and well muscled as this is a working breed. Kamchatka Siberians Huskies have been consistently recognised in the show ring by South African and International Judges for their correct type, outstanding movement and beauty. A SPECIAL MENTION MUST BE MADE IN MEMORY OF MY LATE HUSBAND WES FOR HIS UNDERSTANDING, COMMITMENT AND TOTAL SUPPORT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING AND ALWAYS. I THANK YOU |
